Wednesday 21 June 2017 Malaga Airport security strike, every Thursday and Friday 10am - Noon. Strike starts tomorrow. If you are leaving from Malaga, make sure you get to the airport early, 3 hours minimum before your flight is to leave. Keep hand luggage to a minimum. Stay in close contact with your airline. 30 May 2017 Nationwide taxi strike today. Malaga taxi drivers will join in from noon to 2pm. Barcelona airport 24 hours and Madrid Airport, strike lasted 12 hours.

Two more protests are planned Saturday, July 29th and Monday the 31st of July from then on an indefinite taxi strike is planned.

13 June 2016 Thought we'd put our two cents in. We have plenty of enquiries as to whether this strike is still going on. We've had no complaints, newspapers have been quiet as with union... Let us know if you know otherwise? People want to know. 
Delays to Gatwick yesterday due to large pothole opening up on runway.

2 June 2016 No agreement was made Tuesday. Strike to start Wednesday 00.00. In addition every Monday from 10am to noon terminal 2 and 3 will be blocked. By law minimal service is to be guaranteed by workers. Dare we say, you might be able to "get by"
You may or may not want to know French air traffic control strike has been called off. Strike is being replaced by Air France pilot strike!

EasyJet CGT union workers at Malaga airport to strike Monday 31 May, 2016 for 24 hours. Unions threaten indefinite strike action. EasyJet baggage handlers will strike 31 May starting 00.00 hrs. Strikers say strike will go on for a week. You may find the road to terminal 2 and 3 blocked.

September 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 8am to 11am and 8pm to 11pm

(Old strike dates, you are not going crazy Friday 4, 11, 18 and 25 of September, 2015
4:30 am - 7:30 and again in the evening 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm.)

Call your airline your flight will likely be brought forward, delayed or cancelled. Airlines have plenty of time to work around this. By law some handlers will have to work during these strike hours. Pay attention if traveling to and from airports - Spanish rail strike is planned in September.

Update:-9 June 2015 Shenanigans at Madrid T4 today. Departure board goes black. Passengers told over loud speaker to go directly to gates.  
Malaga delays today due to weather, not by strike.

Update:-Saturday June 6, 2015 Meeting yesterday was fruitless, strike still on. With 70% of flights leaving it will keep disruptions down to a minimum. Airlines can easily work around this.

Update:-3 June, Spanish government step in and insist 70% of flights by law will have to leave. (Almost making the strike ineffective, frustrating controllers.) Now it's up to your airline, call them. More talks planned for Friday, June 5th.

23 April, 2015 Power failure today at Malaga Airport causing 9 flights to be diverted to Seville and Granda. Power failure lasted 14 seconds. Passengers who wished were driven back to Malaga airport by buses.

7 April, 2015 Your flight from Malaga Airport - Costa del Sol might be delayed, cancelled or brought forward to to a French air traffic controllers strike April and May 2015.

Sunday, June 30 Swissport (this is happening at Barcelona El Prat, perhaps similiar situation in Malaga) "sabotage and coercion" by it's workers. Saturday afternoon, aircraft towing tractors, buses passenger and baggage handling equipment and cargo, damaged during the whole day. Causing 50% delay of flights. Today, Sunday, flights delayed still.-

February 21, 2013 Malaga airport flights, Air Nostrum, Iberia Express and Vueling all being hit by Iberia airline strike. Strike will again effect flights in March. Follow along with us. So far things seem to going along nicely in Malaga, no reports that other airlines were effected, such as Flybe. If you know different let us know, please.

Second runway opens 28 June 2012 improvements also include, new equipment in control tower and a new radio communications center.

Thursday 29 March 2012 Spanish General Strike, 29-M. Will effect all flights to Malaga Marbella airport. Call your airline. Flights from Cork and Dublin expected to take a hit.
