Back again, German airport Security Strike
Friday, February 15 Unexpected today at 4 am Cologne - Bonn security workers never showed up for work. Strike likely to go on all day. Added to this the confusion of flight delays from yesterdays's strike. You, as planned by Verdi union are perhaps stranded for a second day. Possibly even another day by the time Cologne airport finishes back up of flights on Saturday. Fingers crossed it ends in Cologne.

Book airport hotel at both start and end of your trip at the airport. Chances are car rentals will be hard to find. Do have a German visa, that way you won't get stuck in international arrivals sleeping on a cot, while everyone else sleeps in a complimentary hotel. Do research on which other airlines fly your route. Make sure you have all these and family phone numbers in your cell. Chargers in your hand luggage right?

Tuesday, 18 June Air Berlin announce mid week strike. Nothing on Air Berlin site this morning. Keep an eye on Air Berlin twitter feed and Berlin airport departures. We will be updating. Unfortunately the pilots union is not going to give time or date, just state shortly. No profit has been made since 2007.
Other airlines must be rubbing hands together.
You better start planning your plan B. They will likely offer you a later flight, bring your flight up earlier, money back or change to different carrier. That's if airline management is given the heads up by the union. Although this union is likely to call a strike for early morning, let's hope it's only for a couple of hours here and there. Watch out for price gauging.
