9 July 08 To use the per-seat, on-demand service, DayJet customers must begin or end their trip at a DayPort. There are about 15 DayPort's in DayJet's service area, including Lakeland, Sarasota, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Miami, Naples and St. Petersburg.

16/6/08   DayJet has signed a deal with the state and the Federal Aviation Administration to be part of a pilot program to test a system in Florida that ultimately will boost commercial airline traffic throughout the United States.

DayJet Founder, President and CEO Ed Iacobucci told BA that the company has revised its business plan to cover operations well into next year, but said "we're not making money yet. We need the scale to make the money." DayJet believed that the company would need 30-50 aircraft serving 20-30 "DayPort" markets to reach profitability.

DayJet, which is based in Boca Raton, Fla., flies business travelers among 45 smaller cities in Florida, Georgia and Alabama.


Latest news on  DayJet  such as staffing issues, pilots, go slow, layoffs, safety concerns, financial health, on time record etc. etc.  Will they strike or go bankrupt after I've bought my ticket and leave me stranded at the airport?  Ultimately do they look  reliable and still be in business in three months?
