12, December, 09 Saturday, French truck drivers offered 4 percent pay raise, both sides still have to agree. Strike is called off.
3 Dec. French truck strike is on for Sunday, 9:30pm, that's when they go into position to block roads ready for Monday's traffic. Picks up from when the Italian truck strike ends. Better book an airline ticket, don't even think about driving.

Picks up the day the Italian truck driver strike ends) Five main French unions urging truck drivers to strike at a joint news conference today. French lorry drivers salaries have been frozen for two years. Unions have plans to block companies, access routes. In other words any company or product that has to do with Christmas. Expect ports and railway tracks to be blocked, duration of strike is not known.
Road blocks will effect traffic to Spain, Britain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany and Italy, and trucks arriving by ferry. If strike goes on for any length of time, 4 days or more expect gas, food and medicine shortages. Hundreds of British trucks will become stranded.
